Jun 29, 2017 - Why Use Radicon Gearbox Reducers

Radicon gearbox reducers are the electromechanical drive elements that aid in ensuring drive systems are operating efficiently. At Gordon Russell, the Radicon reducers are assembled in house and can be shipped to both Eastern and Western Canada. These reducers are built to withstand tough day-to-day applications in industrial and marine industries. With its’ main purpose of action as power transmission equipment, the reducer is used to bring down the speed of the motor power while also increasing its torque.

With completely machined gears, Radicon allows for several different mounting positions to suit a wide variety of applications. The continuous and efficient running and load bearing capacity of the  Radicon gearbox reducers along with superior tooth design results in optimal gear performance. The tooth design optimizes line to line contact between the revolving surfaces, again aiding in better gear motor performance.

Applications

Radicon gearbox reducers are used in a wide variety of applications where increased torque is required, including:

  • Extruders

  • Crane hoisting and Drive Equipment

  • Crushers

  • Centrifuges

  • Mixers and Stirrers

  • Pumps

  • Feed Screws

  • Pulverizing Machines

  • Turntables

  • Conveyors and Material Handling Systems

More on the Reducers

The Radicon reducer is designed in a three part modular structure; this structure can be assembled to fit different industry requirements. The reducers are made up of The PG Kit, Gearhead, and Motor Adaptor.

The complete lineup of Radicon reducer are based on one case for each size, but also has great interchangeability with common parts. As mention before, the reducers offer different shaft arrangements in order to fit the requirements of a wide range of applications. All the units have a hollow output bore and output shaft, which can be fitted to enable the handling to be switched without having to take the unit apart.
